In an open letter to KenKobil Managing Director David Ohana, irate employees of the company have come forward asking for his dismissal saying failure to do so would result in the call to boycott KenKobil products.

The employees claim Ohana has openly discriminated against them and failed to increase the salaries of the employees while he receives a monthly salary of Ksh13 million.

“In the meeting held in Radisson Blue on 22nd Sep, you promised the employees to cause them pain and you are not going to stop. The fear mongering, scare mongering, hating, discrimination, harassment, bullying, intrusion of their private lives, violations of rights has gone overboard,” the statement read.

The letter also complains over the lack of structure in the organizations claiming that there is no HR practitioner or management and as a result lacks leadership.

KenKobil employees highlighted how critical and disrespectful Ohana has been towards the government and ministries such as KPC, KPRL, ERC.

“You have no respect whatsoever for the government and the people that play host to you. You are very explosive in industry stakeholders meetings. Always combative to suggest that you are always right and everything has to go your way,” the letter read further.

The employees allege that the MD has consistently spoken negatively about Kenya and its citizens while firing employees unjustly.

“If you Ohana do not leave and the board and the company’s shareholder retain you then I make this passionate plea to the citizens of this country; to humbly boycott all products of Kenol Kobil – fuels, LPG, K-card, lubes.”
