The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has announced the training of examiners for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) and the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations, scheduled to take place between July and August 2026.
In a statement, KNEC said shortlisted applicants will be required to pay a training fee of Sh10,500. The payment will only be made by successful applicants, who will receive instructions through a text message (SMS) and the KNEC application portal.
The council said the training will be conducted in two phases, beginning with an online component before proceeding to a residential face-to-face session at a venue that will be communicated later.
“The training will be conducted partially online and later physically in a residential venue. Shortlisted trainees will be directed on how to access the online training materials, while the venue for the residential training will be communicated later,” KNEC said.
Upon successful completion of the training, qualified examiners will be considered for recruitment to mark KJSEA and KCSE examination papers based on KNEC’s staffing requirements for each subject.
