    KUCCPS Announces Vacancy for CEO Position

    The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced a vacancy for the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

    In a notice issued on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, the placement agency said the recruitment aims to strengthen its leadership as it continues to deliver on its mandate of placing students in universities and colleges across the country.

    “The Chief Executive Officer is responsible to the Placement Board for the day-to-day running of the affairs of the Corporation, including implementation of the Board’s policies, programmes and strategies in accordance with the law and Government policy guidelines,” the notice read in part.

    According to KUCCPS, the CEO will serve as the Accounting Officer for the agency and the Secretary to the Board. The position involves overseeing the development of long-term strategies, annual budgets, and prudent management of resources. The CEO will also spearhead the implementation of performance contracts, ensure compliance with constitutional and regulatory requirements, and promote effective communication between the Board and Management.

    The successful candidate will be expected to provide strategic leadership, nurture a high-performing team, and ensure efficient placement of students to institutions of higher learning. The role also involves managing stakeholders, promoting KUCCPS’s corporate image, and safeguarding institutional assets.

    To qualify, applicants must have served for at least 15 years, with five of those in a senior management position. They should hold a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from recognized institutions, have completed a leadership course lasting at least four weeks, and be members of relevant professional bodies in good standing. Candidates must also demonstrate outstanding managerial and professional competence, be proficient in computer applications, and meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya.

    “The Chief Executive Officer shall report to the Board and shall hold office for a term of five years, renewable once subject to performance and retirement age. Remuneration attached to this position shall be determined in accordance with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission,” KUCCPS added.

    Interested candidates are encouraged to visit the KUCCPS website at www.kuccps.net under the vacancies section to access a detailed job description. Applications, together with copies of academic and professional certificates and testimonials, should be submitted in both hard and soft copy not later than October 28, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
