Lana Condor is a Vietnamese-American actress, producer, and singer who has captured the hearts of audiences worldwide with her talent and charm.
Born on May 11, 1997, in Cần Thơ, Vietnam, as Tran Dong Lan, she spent her first few months in an orphanage before being adopted by American parents, Mary Carol Condor and Bob Condor, on October 6, 1997.
Raised in Chicago, Illinois, alongside her adoptive brother, Lana’s early life was shaped by a blend of cultures and a supportive family environment.
Her father, Bob Condor, is a Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist and former vice president of Yahoo! Sports, while her mother, Mary Carol, provided a nurturing foundation for Lana’s creative pursuits.
Siblings
Lana has one sibling, her adoptive brother Arthur Condor, who is three months older than her.
Arthur was adopted alongside Lana from the same orphanage in Vietnam, creating an instant bond between the two.
Raised together by their parents, Mary and Bob, the siblings share a unique connection rooted in their shared journey from Vietnam to the United States.
Arthur pursued a different path from Lana, studying Economics with a Mathematical Emphasis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before joining the United States Navy.
Career
Condor’s journey into acting began with a strong foundation in the performing arts.
As a child, she trained in ballet at prestigious institutions like the Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and the Rock School for Dance Education.
Her family’s moves—from Chicago to Whidbey Island, Washington, and later New York City—allowed her to refine her skills in dance and theater.
By her teenage years, Lana had studied at the New York Film Academy and Yale Summer Conservatory for Actors, eventually graduating from Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles in 2015.

Although accepted into Loyola Marymount University, she deferred her enrollment to pursue acting full-time.
Her career kicked off in 2016 with her film debut as Jubilation Lee, aka Jubilee, in the superhero blockbuster X-Men: Apocalypse.
That same year, she appeared in Patriots Day, a drama about the Boston Marathon bombing.
However, it was her starring role as Lara Jean Covey in Netflix’s 2018 romantic comedy To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before that catapulted her to international fame.
Based on Jenny Han’s novel, the film’s success led to two sequels—To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You (2020) and To All the Boys: Always and Forever (2021)—solidifying Lana’s status as a leading actress.
Beyond the To All the Boys trilogy, Lana has showcased her versatility across genres. In 2019, she played the fierce assassin Saya Kuroki in the SyFy series Deadly Class and portrayed Koyomi in the sci-fi film Alita: Battle Angel.
She also ventured into voice acting, lending her voice to Kaoru in Rilakkuma and Kaoru and Casey in BoJack Horseman.
More recently, she starred in and executive produced the 2022 Netflix series Boo, Bitch, played Sophie Tsukino in the sci-fi rom-com Moonshot, and voiced the titular character in the animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken (2023).

Condor’s performances have earned her critical acclaim and several prestigious awards.
In 2019, she won the MTV Movie & TV Award for Best Kiss alongside co-star Noah Centineo for their chemistry in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before.
That same year, she was nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Choice Drama Movie Actress for the role.
