The Linda Mwananchi movement has rescheduled its planned activities in Kisii and Nyamira counties, pushing the engagements from this Friday to Friday, July 3, 2026.

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, who is among the leaders of the movement, said the decision was made in light of planned commemorations marking the June 24 protests.

“In view of the planned commemoration of the June 24 protests this week and in honour of all our fallen heroes, we have rescheduled our planned activities in Kisii and Nyamira from this Friday to next Friday, July 3, 2026,” Sifuna said.

The movement, which is associated with an ODM faction, has recently held a series of large rallies across the country, including in Nakuru, Mombasa, Machakos and Thika.

The development comes a day after Sifuna was removed from his position as ODM Secretary-General.
