The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has published an updated list of institutions licensed to offer law programmes in Kenya. The notice, released on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, shows the specific universities and colleges approved to offer Masters, Bachelor’s, and Diploma courses in law.

According to the notice, only four universities are licensed to offer Masters of Law (LL.M), 16 universities to offer Bachelor of Law (LL.B), and four institutions to offer a Diploma in Law, effective from December 31, 2025.

The CLE emphasized that these licenses are issued under the Legal Education Act (Chapter 16B, Laws of Kenya), and only the listed institutions are legally allowed to provide legal education during the specified period.
