A man stabbed and killed his former wife in a confrontation outside a bar in Kawangware, Nairobi.

The two had been separated for a while and were on Sunday July 20 trying to reconcile when the talks went bad and turned deadly.

Witnesses said the deceased Elizabeth Omwangale, 35 was stabbed in the back several times. The assailant escaped the scene in the 9 pm incident.

The two had met at a bar for reconciliation talks when the incident happened.

After the talks failed to materialize with the man demanding the woman to accompany him to his house, the assailant is said to have tried to drag out of the bar.

It was then that he drew a knife he had and stabbed her in the back before escaping.

The woman was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police visited the scene and recovered the murder weapon.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and other investigations.

Police said the hunt on the assailant is ongoing.

Elsewhere in Keroka, Nyamira County, a man was killed in a fight over land.

The incident happened in Gachuba area and saw Jared Onyisi stabbed and killed.

This happened as the man was having his dinner in his house. The assailant, who is his younger brother, escaped the scene after stabbing him in the chest and back.

Police said the two had quarreled over a piece of land in the area. The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and investigations.

In Githiga, Githunguri, Kiambu County, a Ugandan national identified as Geoffrey Muyimai was stabbed to death by his wife, also a Ugandan, in a quarrel.

Police said the couple disagreed over some money which the wife had given to the deceased for safe custody and when she demanded for the money back, the deceased refused with it prompting a deadly quarrel.

In the process, the wife picked a kitchen knife and stabbed the deceased twice around the left side of the chest.

Neighbors came to his rescue upon hearing the screams, but the deceased succumbed to the injuries, police said.

The body was found lying in a pool of blood with an open stab wound on the chest.

The woman was arrested pending arraignment, police said.
