The Permanent Presidential Music Commission (PPMC) has announced that auditions for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations will begin on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, and will involve participants from Kitui County only.
In a statement, PPMC invited talented musicians and creatives from Kitui and its surrounding areas to take part in the auditions, which will run until Thursday, August 31, 2025.
The sessions will be held at selected venues in the county from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.
“Are you a talented musician or creative Kitui county and its environs and wish to participate in the upcoming Mashujaa Day 2025 celebration? PMMC invites you for auditions, which will be held in the following venues as per repective dates,” PPMC said.

Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy Coordination, Denis Itumbi, said the theme for Mashujaa Day 2025 will focus on energy.
He also revealed that the government is building a brand-new stadium in Kitui to host the national celebrations, sharing pictures of the ongoing construction.
Mashujaa Day is celebrated annually on October 20 to honour Kenyans who played a key role in the country’s struggle for independence from colonial rule.
