    Matiang’i Orders Closure Of KU, JKUAT Tanzania, Rwanda Campuses

    CS Fred Matiang’i has ordered Kenyatta University and Jomo Kenyatta University of Technology (JKUAT) close their Rwanda and Tanzania campuses.

    The directive comes a day after the Tanzania Commission for Universities listed the two institutions of higher learning among 17 institutions that did not meet the set standards.

    The commission barred the institutions from admitting more students in September.

    The Parliament’s Investments committee last year questioned the decision by Kenyatta University to invest more than Sh370 million to open up a campus in Rwanda without necessary approval.
