There is a hospital in Umoja estate in Nairobi called Green Gate Medical Centre. It is more of a clinic than a hospital.

The women who have just given birth at the hospital are forced to sleep on the cold floor as they are being continually monitored as the hospital lacks something as basic as a bed for the mothers.

With the raging cold in Nairobi, it will not be a surprise if most of the kids born there don’t survive through the cold and develop complications thereafter. New born kids have almost zero immunity so they are at most risk.

We hope that governor Kidero and the Ministry of Health will intervene. How such hospitals came to operate also surprises many.
