A teacher in Njoro, Nakuru County was on Friday caught sexually assaulting a class eight pupil in the staff room.
The teacher is said to have lured the pupil into the staff room early morning as others prepared for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) set to start on Tuesday.
Raising the alarm was a fellow teacher who caught him in the act.
Confirming the incident was the area chief who said that investigations into the unfortunate issue are ongoing.
The pupil has since been taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
“The girl was immediately taken to hospital and will record a statement over the incident. The suspect is in police custody,” the chief said.
