    Early Life

Dadju Alimasi Nsungula was born on May 2, 1991, in Melun, France, near Paris.

He comes from a deeply musical family. His father, Djanana Djuna, was a respected vocalist who performed with Papa Wemba.

Dadju is also the half-brother of Gims, a major figure in French hip-hop and a former member of Sexion d’Assaut. Growing up in this environment played a significant role in shaping his musical ambitions.

    Breakthrough With Shin Sekaï

Dadju began his professional music career in 2012 as part of the duo Shin Sekaï, alongside rapper Abou Tall.

Signed to Wati B, the duo released two mixtapes and their debut album Indéfini in 2016, which performed well on the French charts.

Although the group gained popularity, they disbanded in 2017, allowing Dadju to pursue a solo career.

    Solo Career

Dadju’s solo breakthrough came in 2017 with the release of Gentleman 2.0.

The album was a massive commercial success:

    • Reached No. 1 on the French charts
    • Certified Diamond
    • Produced hit singles like “Reine,” “Django,” and “Christina”

    He continued his success with:

    • Poison ou Antidote (2019) – A double album that topped charts
    • Cullinan (2022) – Another No. 1 project
    • Héritage (2024, with Tayc) – Continued his streak of chart-topping releases

Dadju has consistently dominated the French music scene, achieving multiple number-one albums and hit singles.

    Hit Songs

Throughout his career, Dadju has collaborated with some of the biggest names in music.

    Notable collaborations include:

    • Anitta on “Mon soleil”
    • Ninho on “Grand bain”
    • Slimane on “Belle”
    • Kendji Girac on “Dans mes bras”

He has also been featured on tracks with artists like Aya Nakamura and Soolking, expanding his reach across international markets.

    Continued Success

Dadju’s ability to blend genres and appeal to both French and global audiences has been key to his sustained success.

His music combines emotional storytelling with modern production, making it widely accessible. Over time, he has built a strong fan base not only in France but also across Europe, Africa, and beyond.

    Personal Life

Dadju has maintained a relatively private personal life.

He got married in 2016 and welcomed a son in 2020. Despite his fame, he keeps much of his family life out of the public spotlight, focusing primarily on his music career.
