Victor Wanyama was totally out of Tottenham Hotspur’s squad for Monday night Premier League loss to Manchester City at Wembley.

Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez netted the lone as Spurs tasted their third defeat in ten outings.

Wanyama has not played for the Mauricio Puchettino’s outfit since he was pulled out in the 72nd minute in Kenya’s 3-0 win over Ethiopia in the 2019 Afcon qualifiers on 14 October.

In the last three games the former Celtic and Southampton midfielder has only managed a bench appearance in 2-2 draw against PSV in the Champions League.

Before, he did not totally feature against West Ham in a league they won 1-0.

Wanyama has struggled with a nagging knee problem that has seen him out of action for the better part of last and this season.
