The National Police Service (NPS) has assured the public that it is fully prepared to provide security ahead of the upcoming by-elections.

In a statement on Thursday, November 13, 2025, NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga said the service will ensure safety before, during, and after the polls.

“The National Police Service wishes to assure the public and all stakeholders of its comprehensive preparedness and unwavering commitment to provide adequate security before, during, and after the upcoming by-elections,” Nyaga stated.

He added that the police have developed a robust, multi-faceted security plan in close coordination with the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to ensure a peaceful, free, fair, and credible electoral process.

Nyaga also urged politicians and all election participants to obey the law. “We will not tolerate any form of violence, incitement, hate speech, destruction of property, or disruption of public order,” he said.

Politicians have been called upon to promote peace, especially following recent political clashes in Kasipul Constituency.

The by-elections are scheduled to take place on November 27, 2025.
