    Obama Outlines a New Strategy to Fight Intellectual Property Theft

    IP THeft

    The White House yesterday announced a new initiative to fight the theft of Intellectual Property (IP) in the US. The new initiative has been created in coordination law enforcement agencies in US including the Departments of Defense, Homeland Security, Justice, and State.

    • The initiative which has been detailed in a 141-page document, focuses primarily on 5 action points;
    • Diplomatic efforts
    • Cooperation with private industry
    • Enhanced law enforcement operations and legislation
    • Public outreach

    The White House has promised that the Obama administration “will continue to act vigorously to combat the theft of American trade secrets that could be used by foreign companies or foreign governments to gain an unfair commercial advantage.”
