Gubernatorial hopeful Dr. Enock Ondari assured Kisii County residents that his leadership will be anchored on integrity and accountability if he wins the seat.

The county, he observed, continues to suffer setbacks due to corruption, nepotism, and misuse of public resources.

He vowed to run a transparent administration that prioritizes the welfare of the people.

Ondari who was speaking during at a burial Friday in Gesusu, Masaba South, emphasized that integrity would be the guiding principle of his government.

“Kisii needs leaders who are honest and committed to service. I promise to lead with integrity and ensure that every coin collected is spent for the benefit of our people,” he said.

He now plans to digitize county services, enforce strict financial audits, and empower oversight committees to curb misuse of funds once elected.

The former Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Executive separately pledged to root out corruption if elected in the upcoming polls.

Graft, he said, continues to undermine development in the devolved units across the country thus denying the electorate quality services.

The aspirant said it is wrong for public funds meant for key projects to diverted into private pockets, frustrating the growth of essential sectors such as healthcare, infrastructure, and education.

“Corruption has robbed our people of opportunities and prosperity. My administration will prioritize transparency, accountability, and prudent use of resources to ensure every shilling counts,” he said.

He assured residents that he would strengthen oversight mechanisms, digitize revenue collection, and work closely with independent watchdog agencies to seal loopholes in public finance management.

The aspirant further promised to promote a culture of integrity by ensuring public officers serve with honesty and face consequences if found engaging in malpractices.

“I want to assure the people of Kisii that under my leadership, corruption will have no place. We must build a county where resources are used to uplift lives, not enrich individuals,” he added.
