    Paul Tergat

Former cross country champion Paul Tergat has been elected as the Chairman of the  National Olympic Committee Of Kenya unopposed. He will take over from long serving chairman and Kenyan Olympic legend Kipchoge Keino .

This elections have finally happened after they were stopped by a court order in May. Mr. Paul Tergat faces an uphill task of saving face for the Olympic committee after the ill treatment of athletes during the Rio Olympics watered down National body’s reputation. There were various allegations of officials getting preferential treatment at the detriment of participating athletes

Some of the officials in the previous regime such as Stephen Soi were even barred from vying in this elections owing to the fact that they have cases in court.

The NOCK has been facing a lot of difficulties with various Federations dragging them to the sports tribunal for different reasons and even their bank accounts being frozen pending investigations.
