Jacque Maribe has finally been allowed into her Lang’ata home after she sought to have the DCI George Kinoti and DPP Noordin Haji held in contempt for disobeying court orders.

The Citizen TV journalist complained that she has had to “beg for clothes” after the prosecution disallowed her from picking her personal belongings from her home which is being treated as a crime scene.

But the lead prosecutor Catherine Mwaniki on Tuesday told the court that Ms Maribe can access her home starting today but will wait for her phone to be produced in court as it is an exhibit.

Her car, which was being used by the co-accused person, Joe “Jowie” Irungu on the night of the murder of Monica Kimani, will remain in custody as the prosecution awaits a government chemist report.

“…we are waiting for a report from the government chemist which is not ready on whether they should release it or use it as an exhibit,” Ms Mwaniki told the court.

Maribe was released on October 31 on a Sh2 million bond after spending a little over a month behind bars.

Her fiance, Jowie is still in remand at the Kamiti Maximum Prison after Justice James Wakiaga denied him bail owing to the fact that he does not have a known physical address and poses a threat to potential witnesses.
