NASA presidential candidate, Raila Odinga on Monday received defectors from the Jubilee party.
The team of 13 is comprised of sitting and aspiring Members of the County Assembly (MCA) hailing from Limuru, Juja and Kiambu.They were received at the ODM headquarters in Nairobi.
According to Raila, time for change had come and there is no way Jubilee was winning this election. The team’s move proved that NASA had gained ground even in areas assumed to be the President’s strongholds.
“Wakati wa mabadiliko ni sasa (It is time for change). NASA will campaign in Kiambu, Muranga and Nyeri since we represent the face of Kenya,” Raila said. ”There is no way Jubilee can win in the upcoming elections.”
The former premier further said NASA is a movement for all Kenyans.
“Our message to Kiambu residents will be ‘NASA is the solution to your problems and Jubilee is the problem to the solution’,” he added.
The opposition leader will be in Kiambu county on Tuesday trying to drum up support for the National Super Alliance, 35 days to the elections.
