    Singer Ray C’s Suicidal Posts Elicit Mixed Reaction Months After Leaving Rehab

    Popular Tanzanian singer Rehema Chalamila better known by her stage name Ray C has caused a stir online after sharing suicidal posts on her social media.

    The singer, who spent months in the rehab battling drug addiction and depression, is back to the drawing board, judging from the posts.

    In a series of posts, the Uko Wapi hit maker poured her heart out, saying she was contemplating of taking her own life.

    However, Ray C didn’t reveal much of what is going in her life, leaving netizens speculating.

    Some sympathized with her while others felt she was pulling a come back stunt.

    In 2017, the Bongo Flava star was sent back to a rehabilitation centre in Dar es Salaam, after attempting suicide.

    This was after retired President Jakaya Kikwete and several well wishers sent the singer to rehab in 2012.

    In 2016, Kikwete urged Ray C to stop taking drugs while on methadone treatment as it would result in her breaking down.

    Last year, after months of speculations from fans on matters her health, the singer went ahead to post her HIV test results.

    Ray C captioned image of a kit showing negative results, “Nakuhamasisha wewe unaekiangalia hiki kiduduwasha maana kidogo lakini nakiheshimu sana.!!!Alhamdulillah#Hivawareness (I am informing you who is watching this thing, because it is small but I respect it a lot. Alhamdulillah#Hivawareness).”
