    Reservist arrested after fatally shooting man in Maralal

    A member of the National Police Reserve was arrested after he shot and killed a man in a village in Maralal, Samburu County.

    Police said the incident happened in Loibor Nkare center on March 6 and the motive was yet to be known.

    The suspect is said to have shot and killed one Lekweshi Leserimba, 22 in the drama.

    His weapon was taken away for ballistic tests and other procedures, police said adding the body was moved to the mortuary for autopsy. Police said they are investigating murder in the saga.

    Police said they were investigating four other murder incidents reported on Saturday alone.

    For instance, in Bumula, Bungoma County, one John Wekesa, 61 was found murdered outside his house.

    He had his genitals tampered with in the murder, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary for autopsy,

    The motive of the murder was not immediately known and no arrest had been made by Sunday, police said.

    In Homa Bay town, a woman was found murdered after an attack.

    Police said the body of Kniterose Adhiambo, 45 was stabbed and killed outside her house. She had closed her business in the Arujo area and proceeded to her house where she was attacked. Her husband told police he found her lying and bleeding after being stabbed.

    The motive of the attack was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    Police said she had stab wounds in the head, face and her thumb was chopped off in the attack.

    The police said they were investigating the incident.

    In Ntimaru, Migori County, one Robi Lucas, 25 was found dead after being stabbed by unknown people.

    The body of the woman was found in her rented house with a stab wound in the backbone.

    Police said the body lay in a pool of blood and they are yet to know the assailant and motive.

    It was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.

    In Embu Town, one Peterson Mureithi, 60 was found dead at the entrance of their home after suspected murder.

    Police said the victim had a slight cut on his right eye brows and some bruises in the chin and neck.

    The motive of the murder was not known and the body was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.
