Makueni Senator, Mutula Kilonzo Junior has reacted to Kitui High Court order that temporarily barred the county assemblies from discussing or adopting the People’s Assembly motions.
Senator Mutula reckons that the Justice Lillian Mutende ruling is ‘weird, preemptive, & unenforceable.’
Justice Mutende on Monday following prayers by an NGO by the name of Counties Development Group blocked the Senate, National Assembly and ward representatives from implementing motions tabled and moved before them for the appointment or election of members, delegations and observers to the people’s assemblies.
“An interim conservatory order is hereby issued restraining the 4th-50th respondents and the members of the count y assemblies from constituting a special college for the appointment of election of members, delegations and observers to the people’s assembly or in any way participate in the people’s assembly,” the Judge ruled.

Leader of Majority in the National Assembly, Aden Duale had written to controller of budget Controller of Budget Agnes Odhiambo, asking her to not approve budgets financing the motion.
Duale, on Thursday claimed that the opposition had asked the county governments to allocate Sh50 million to support the initiative.
