President William Ruto has made several changes in top leadership positions within key government agencies, including the appointment of Lily Ng’ok as the new Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Authority.
The changes were announced through a gazette notice dated May 16, 2025. Ng’ok’s appointment is effective immediately and will run for a term of three years.
Ng’ok replaces Sylvanus Maritim, whose appointment to the ICT Authority Board has been revoked.
Maritim has now been named the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Industrial Estates, also for a three-year term.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 6(1)(a) of the State Corporations Act, as read together with Section 51(1) of the Interpretation and General Provisions Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Sylvanus Maritim to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Industrial Estates, for a period of three years, with effect from 16th May 2025. The appointment of Lily Ng’ok is revoked,” the gazette notice stated.
In another appointment, President Ruto named Prof. Lawrence Gumbe as the new Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of the Nuclear Power and Energy Agency. Prof. Gumbe will serve for a period of four years.
