    Ruto Reappoints Board Chairpersons in Key State Agencies

    President William Ruto has retained five board chairpersons in various government agencies.

    In a Kenya Gazette notice dated February 20, 2026, the Head of State reappointed Mzee Mwinyi Mzee as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority. Samson Kipkoech Some was reappointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Fund, while Dr. Abdillahi Ibrahim will continue serving as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Medical Research Institute.

    Sophy Nekoye Waliaula was reappointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board, and Dr. Jane Langat will continue serving as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board. All five will serve new five-year terms.

    In the same notice, Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Stephen Odhiambo Anditi as Chairperson of the Public Private Partnerships Petition Committee for a three-year term. Anne Jepkokei Cheboi, Dr. Brian Mutie Muithya, Dr. Leonard Kinyulusi and Eric Thige Muchiri were appointed as members of the committee.

    In other government appointments, Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development Mutahi Kagwe reappointed Gabriel Pulei as a member of the Kenya Dairy Board for a three-year term effective February 20, 2026.

    Cabinet Secretary for Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Salim Mvurya reappointed John Njogu Njoroge as chairperson of the Kenya Film Classification Board. John Muigai Nyururu, Hariety Namwezi Zitah, Stephanie Kamene Maseki, Kipruto Kiptoo, John Osimbo, Grace Mwendwa Munjuri and Raphael Ekadeli Loperito were reappointed as board members.

    Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui reappointed Rancis Mugo as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council.

    Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary James Opiyo Wandayi reappointed Mark Nderitu Muturi, Sammy Choge and Peter Kenneth Kimani as members of the Board of Directors of the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation.

    Defence Cabinet Secretary and Chairperson of the Defence Council Roselinda Soipan Tuya reappointed Lt. Col. (Rtd.) Edward Cherop Kimosop as a member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans.

    In the education sector, Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba appointed James Okebiro Mageto and Ethel Nakhumicha Githirwa to the council of Kiambu National Polytechnic. He also appointed Pauline M. Mallo Nagila and Julius Mokogi to the council of Kabete National Polytechnic and reappointed Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi as a member of the same council. All will serve three-year terms.
