Ryan Poehling is an American professional ice hockey center who currently plays for the Anaheim Ducks in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Born on January 3, 1999, in Lakeville, Minnesota, he stands 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs around 203-206 pounds.
Poehling shoots left and has built a reputation as a versatile two-way forward known for his strong faceoff skills, defensive reliability, shot-blocking from the forward position, and ability to contribute offensively.
He was selected 25th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and has since played for several teams, establishing himself as a dependable depth player and occasional top-six contributor.
Siblings
Ryan’s older twin brothers, Nick and Jack Poehling, were born in 1996 and played alongside Ryan during their youth.
The three brothers famously skated on the same forward line for Lakeville North High School in Minnesota, helping lead the team to success, including a state championship in 2015.
All three also committed to and played together for St. Cloud State University (SCSU) in the NCHC, marking a rare instance of three siblings on the same college hockey roster.
Nick and Jack, who played forward positions and served as alternate captains at SCSU, later signed professional contracts and pursued careers that included stints in minor professional leagues, though they have since transitioned away from playing.
