20 people have been rushed to the hospital after a tree they were hanging on broke its branches as they followed the Madaraka Day celebrations at Kinoru Stadium in Meru.
The stadium with a capacity of 18, 000 people had filled by 7 am in the morning and those who missed space were seen hanging around the stadium before they allowed in after presentations.

Others who were not lucky to get in hang on the trees to get a better view while others sat under it for shade.
A branch of the tree unfortunately broke injuring those who were on top and under the tree. The incident comes hours after a stampede was reported in the morning as people attempted to force themselves inside the Kinoru Stadium.
