Team Kenya managed second place with 11 medals in the just concluded World IAAF championships.

Team Kenya bagged 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

The last day of the championships was a good day for Kenya as the team managed to bag two Gold medals from Helen Obiri in the 5000 meters while Elijah Manangoi gave a stunning performance in the 1500 meter race .

The performance was a drop from the  2015 Beijing championships where Kenya topped the tables bringing back home 16 medals.

Julius Yego emerged 13th throwing a distance of 76.29 metres. The ill performance could be blamed on an injury as he limped out of the championship.

He took to his Facebook page to apologize to his fans for the disappointing performance. He said the injury was similar to the one he got during the Olympic games in Rio last year.
