    SGR Workers Severely Injured In An Accident At A Construction Site

    At least two Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) workers have been injured following an accident at a construction site.

    The crash, is reported to have happened between Kimuka and Nachu tunnel on the SGR route to Naivasha.

    According to sources, two locomotives separated and crushed into each other due to sharp breaking.

    One is noted to have had a wooden compartment and the other had a construction equipment.

    It is alleged that following the incident, the Chinese contractor wanted the information to be buried.

    The crash happened on Phase 2A of the project which is on its final stages and is scheduled to be launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

    According to the Daily Nation, the firm overseeing the construction of the rail had mentioned that there was a technical issued where the locomotive used to identify faults suddenly stopped.

    However, the source who divulged the information dismissed claims that there was a collision of any kind to cause the injuries.

    Additionally, it is claimed that the parent company of China Road and Bridge Construction (CRBC), China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), had drafted a statement for the media however, they did not release it.

    It remains unclear how the injured workers are fairing on and which hospital they were rushed to following the crash.
