Nairobi County Deputy Governor Polycarp Igathe has shared a photo of Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko, Former Governor Evans Kidero and him while the three were at Muthaiga Golf Club.
Igathe captioned the photo saying it was delightful to have bumped into their predecessor Kidero while he and his ‘boss’ as he refers to Sonko had gone for lunch at the members Club.
Kidero and Sonko have been embroiled in legal tussle with the latter seeking to have the petition challenging his win struck out.
In an application before Justice Mbogholi Msagha, Sonko sought to have the petition filed by Japhet Moroko and Zacheus Okoth Oliech thrown out on technicalities claiming he thought the petitioners would withdraw the petition after former governor Kidero failed in his bid to be enjoined in the case.
Could the ‘bumping’ into each other have been a meeting aimed at having Kidero drop the petition?

Igathe also threw the media under propeller of disapproval for churning stories portraying ‘a divided country.’

Mr. Igathe said the Country is more united than people realize adding that the narrative was being propagated by the media and aimed at being sensational.

Reports have rocked blogs and mainstream media of a rift between Sonko and Igathe a narrative sold of  politician governors and their smart technocrat deputies.

The reports the two vehemently denied claimed Igathe had the backing of State house to run things while Sonko had been reduced to a ceremonial governor.

There have also been claims of a division across the political elites but Jubilee overwhelmingly voted for Oburu Odinga and Kennedy Musyoka when NASA submitted their names for EALA seats.

Igathe’s tweet insinuate that the leaders have put their political differences behind them and the common ‘wananchi’ should follow suit and urged the people not to believe everything they read on the media.
