Uganda’s Internal Security Organisation (ISO) has revealed that they are holding South Sudanese ‘tycoon’ Lawrence Lual Malong Yor Jr.
Malong Jr was reported missing on November 22, with family members saying that he was arrested in his Milano Hotel room in Kabalagala, Uganda on November 21.
Despite reports indicating that he was taken away by Uganda People’s Defence Force(UPDF), the army denied reports that they took him.
ISO Director General Kaka Bagyenda told Ugandan media that they were holding Malong over a wide range of criminal activities.
“He (Mr Malong Jr) is a person of interest to us and it’s true that we have him. He is helping us with investigations and at the right time, you will be informed of the charges he will face,” said Bagyenda.

It is suspected that Malong has been arrested for being at the centre of a counterfeit gold dealing scam, which has seen multiple foreigners lose billions.
There have been reports linking Malong Junior to Ex- south Sudanese army chief General Paul Malong Awan, but he has denied any links to the former army chief.
Asked about the source of his wealth, Malong has been saying that it is a “blessings from Lord Jesus”.
“My Lord Jesus Christ blessed me; I fly on private jets. I live in Presidential suites. I am blessed,” he told a Kenyan TV station.
