Steve Mbogo, Starehe Mp aspirant on an ODM ticket on Tuesday lost his bid to stop The Star, Nation Media Group, Mediamax and the Standard Group from publishing information related to an alleged defilement case.
Mbogo is said to have defiled a 15 year old minor on August 3, 2008 in Kileleshwa.
The business man while seeking the court injunction said the story would cause him ‘untold suffering and prejudice and have him at a disadvantage’ during the August poll.

Magistrate David Mbeja while making the ruling said the application by the father of two lacked merit and that journalists are allowed to give a fair account of events if not malicious.
”Journalists, unless barred by the court, are entitled to publish a fair and accurate report of a judicial proceeding before any court,” said the magistrate.
Mbogo is said to have been dating the girl’s elder sister. He told the court that the girl’s mother asked for 500,000 to drop the case.
He was handed a 20 year jail sentence but was later set free.
Steve lost his Starehe parliamentary bid to Singer Jaguar in the just concluded August poll.
