A suspect died after he jumped from the fourth floor of a house where he was accused of stealing water taps in Juja, Kiambu County.
A caretaker of an apartment in the area said he stumbled on the suspect while dismantling taps at the house at the weekend.
He alerted other tenants and went there where he found a man removing water taps installed in the said house.
The stranger, on seeing the caretaker started running away upstairs to the rooftop.
Upon arrival at the rooftop, he jumped down from the rooftop of the four-storey building and landed on the ground.
He landed on his back and was rushed to Thika Level Five Hospital where he was confirmed dead.
It was established that the suspect had removed 12 water taps from the house, which were kept as exhibits.
The body was moved to Thika General Kago mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem.
Elsewhere in Mbale ranch, Taita Taveta, a herdsman was stabbed and killed by another herdsman in a fight.
Police said Abdiraman Jimale Ahmed was stabbed and killed in the altercation at the ranch.
The suspect was arrested later on and the killer weapon recovered.
It is not clear what triggered the fighting.
The body moved to Moi Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
In Awendo, Migori County, one Fred Otieno Okoth, 32 was killed in a bar in a fight.
Police said they established that the deceased returned to the bar after midnight openly brandishing a knife and demanding to enter the joint.
A reveler prevented him from entering the bar and the two fought where the deceased was overpowered and beaten to death despite efforts by the club bouncer to stop the fight.
During the incident, an unidentified male adult was also assaulted and was rushed to a nearby dispensary for attention.
Two motorbikes parked outside the bar were burnt by the mob. The body was moved to Migori County Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem.
