Taís Bianca Gama de Araújo Ramos, commonly known as Taís Araújo, is a renowned Brazilian actress born on November 25, 1978, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

She entered the world prematurely at seven months and is of African, Austrian, and Portuguese descent.

As the second daughter of economist Ademir de Araújo and educationist Mercedes de Araújo, she grew up in the Méier neighborhood in Rio’s North Zone until the age of eight before moving to Barra da Tijuca.

Araújo pursued studies in journalism at Estácio de Sá University but ultimately found her calling in the entertainment industry.

She married fellow actor Lázaro Ramos in 2007, and after a brief separation in 2009, the couple reconciled and went on to have two children: a son named João Vicente de Araújo Ramos, born on June 18, 2011, and a daughter named Maria Antônia, born on January 23, 2015.

Cláudia played a personal role in the family by serving as the obstetrician during the birth of Taís’s daughter, Maria Antônia.

    Career

Araújo’s career in acting began in 1995 with a role in the telenovela Tocaia Grande, but her breakthrough arrived in 1996 when she portrayed the title character in Xica da Silva on Rede Manchete, a performance that gained international recognition and was exported to over 30 countries.
