Former senior royal Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson were notably absent from the royal family’s Easter celebrations this year, as scrutiny continues over Andrew’s past ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The former Duke of York—born Andrew Mountbatten Windsor—was seen on Sunday driving his Range Rover across the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, England. He was accompanied by his two corgis during the daytime outing and later took them for a walk in an open field. Andrew, 66, was dressed in a green jacket and khaki trousers.

Ferguson, who was married to Andrew from 1986 until their divorce in 1996, did not join him at the estate. Both, however, were absent from the traditional Easter service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, where senior members of the royal family gathered.

Among those attending were the Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, who appeared alongside their children—Prince George (12), Princess Charlotte (10), and Prince Louis (7). The family arrived in coordinated formal attire, with Catherine and Charlotte in dresses and the young princes in matching blue suits.

Their appearance marked a return to public Easter celebrations after a two-year absence, during which the Princess of Wales had been undergoing cancer treatment. She has since entered remission.

Also in attendance were King Charles III and Queen Camilla, alongside other senior royals.

Prince Andrew’s continued exclusion from major royal events follows years of controversy linked to his association with Jeffrey Epstein. He was previously stripped of his royal titles and removed from his residence at Royal Lodge amid public and institutional pressure over the allegations.

He has consistently denied wrongdoing. However, reports have also linked him to separate legal scrutiny, including allegations related to misconduct in public office. He faces serious potential legal consequences if convicted.
