Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) has asked Multichoice Tanzania to explain why it is still continuing to offer free-to-air channels in its paid subscriptions.
In a notice published in today’s dailies, TCRA is warning Multichoice Tanzania Limited that it has continually ignored notices to cease offering the free channels in paid bouquets offered by the Naspers owned entity.

Multichoice is said to have breached the contract and efforts to have TCRA push them to follow the law has not been successful. The authority now wishes to terminate its license.
TCRA previously terminated the contract of Startimes for not airing the free content free of charge as stipulated in its content provision license.
