Detectives are looking for a gang that broke into a church and stole property in Kirinyaga County.
The thieves also drank altar wine, ate sacramental bread before they made off with the church property.
The incident happened at ACK St. Matthew’s Mutithi Church on Sunday.
According to the church’s vice chairman, Eliud Muriuki, the theft was reported by choir members who discovered the keyboard missing.
The night guard was accused of sleeping on the job, as the robbery happened while he was on duty.
The guard did not realize the church had been broken into.
Police officers visited the church on Monday night and assured the congregation that investigations are ongoing.
Police said the church wine valued at Sh3,000 was missing.
The gang gained entry into the church by cutting the window grill.
They then unlocked one of the doors there which they used in escaping.
No arrest or recovery has been made so far.
Meanwhile a convict who was serving 15 years in jail died in a hospital in Marsabit.
Galm Galgalo, 78 died at Marsabit county Hospital Monday.
He was serving a 15-year sentence for murder and had a history of hypertension. The body was taken to Marsabit County morgue awaiting autopsy.
And police recovered 30 assorted mobile phones and arrested four suspects following a robbery on the highway and in a traffic jam on Githogoro -Ruaka road (Northern bypass) in Nairobi.
Police said they were informed that there was a syndicate of phone snatchers terrorizing members of the public within Choma Zone of Ruaka.
Upon reaching Mimosa Bridge, the team found accident standby attending to a non injury traffic accident involving a motor vehicle whose driver had been attacked.
This prompted an operation that led to the arrest of the four and recovery of the gadgets.
