A truck driver was found dead in his cabin long after the incident along the Kisumu-Kericho highway in Kapsoit area.
The driver was later identified as Kimanzi Mulonzya, 44. He had delivered raw cooking oil to Uganda and was driving back to Nairobi on December 12, 2025 when he parked the trailer near Medhill Health Centre, police said.
Witnesses said the lorry arrived there at about 9 am. It was until the following day on Saturday when curious locals got concerned. They told police they did not see him get out of the lorry.
Police visited the scene and found the body on the steering and slumped to the back bed in the cabin.
Police removed the body and found assorted drugs used in the management of ulcers.
There was a bucket containing sputum in the cabin, police said. The management of the lorry was contacted for further processing as the body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
The driver was alone at that time. The long distance drivers have to endure much to deliver the goods and services for a living.
In Sondu, Kericho County, a 15-year-old boy drowned in a river while on a swimming session. The boy had been with other colleagues at the Miriu river when he drowned on Friday evening.
His body was retrieved from the water hours later.
The friends had to rush to the homes to seek help to get the body from the water after realizing the boy had drowned.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures, police said.
Elsewhere in Kibera slums, Nairobi, one Fred Omollo was found dead in his bed.
Police said they are yet to establish the cause of the 45-year-old man in his house.
His friend had on Saturday morning to pick him for them to proceed to a place where they have been working when he found him motionless.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy to establish the cause of the death.
