Police in Kampala have arrested Mr. Taylor Smith an American Citizen who was caught on camera assaulting the staff at Grand Imperial Hotel.

In the video that has since gone viral, Mr Smith is seen punching and humiliating a hotel staff while hurling insults. Ugandans reacted to this video angrily and demanded for his arrest.

Taylor Smith said he was punching the Hotel staff because he had allegedly ‘disgraced Jesus.’

Mr. Taylor Smith who claims is a missionary accepted that he had attacked the hotel staff but in his defence said that he had a condition that made him suffer with stress and hence made him attack the innocent staff.

The police said that the American had resisted arrest and had become rowdy to an extent of spitting on them and also ceasing the firearms from the police.

“Kampala Police has arrested an American citizen for allegedly assaulting one of the workers of Grand Imperial Hotel. Footage from security television cameras installed showed a foreigner, identified later as Mr. Jimmy L. Taylor punching and humiliating a hotel employee,” part of the statement said.
