Jubilee has thrown its weight behind Kirinyaga Governor, Anne Waiguru as the Council of Governors vice chairman in the coming CoG election.
The county bosses are scheduled to hold a retreat this Thursday, a first one after the hotly contested August 8 elections.
Reports indicate that she will get the position based purely on gender balance. But the tyranny of numbers also factors in; with Jubilee having won over 25 gubernatorial seats edging out the opposition, which has 15 seats.
Governors together with their deputies held a meeting at the Diani Reef hotel where those affiliated to the Jubilee leadership backed Waiguru’s candidature.
President Uhuru Kenyatta who will be present during the Thursday meeting already threw his weight behind Salim Mvurya, Kwale Governor who will take over from Turkana county boss, Josphat Nanok.

Nanok, who in the past has differed with Kenyatta is yet to complete his term as the CoG chairperson. He took over from former Meru Governor, Peter Munya who lost his re-election bid.
