The Jubilee Party has called on opposition coalition partners to rally behind a single candidate under its banner in the forthcoming Ol Kalou by-election.

In a statement issued on Thursday, April 22, 2026, Secretary-General Moitalel Ole Kenta said the party will field a candidate following the death of Ol Kalou MP David Kiaraho, who was elected on a Jubilee ticket.

Kenta assured residents of a free, fair and transparent nomination process, adding that the party is committed to strengthening opposition unity.

“In the spirit of building a credible, united and formidable alternative government, and in response to the growing call by Kenyans for opposition unity, Jubilee Party respectfully urges our coalition partners to support the fielding of a single opposition candidate under the Jubilee Party banner in the upcoming by-election,” the statement read.

The party described the by-election as a defining moment for the opposition, emphasising the need for a coordinated approach.

Jubilee noted that it had previously stepped aside in the Mbeere North constituency and ward elections to support a unified opposition front. It added that opposition parties have also agreed on a single candidate in the Emurua Dikirr contest.

The party further indicated that it plans to field candidates across all elective positions—from Member of County Assembly to the presidency—in the 2027 General Election.
