wiperA section of Wiper Party leaders are set to launch Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2022 presidential bid.

Led by Makueni Governor, Kivutha Kibwana who is the acting Chairman of Wiper, the Party’s politicians  said that Musyoka’s bid was unstoppable.

Speaking in Machakos, Joshua Mwalyo, Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East), Ben Momanyi (Borabu), and Rashid Kassim (Wajir Township) noted that they would mobilize resources that would ensure a Kalonzo presidency.

They noted that 2022 was their leader’s only chance to clinch the presidency in line with the memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed by Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetangula.

Kalonzo will face off with Deputy President William Ruto, who has also set his eyes on the 2022 bid.

“Our party leader will be a presidential candidate and this calls for dedication, commitment and sacrifice because it is not an easy task. Whatever happens on the way let us not lose our focus on the big prize because this is the only opportunity we have,” Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua.

Musyoka had earlier on in the day called in from Germany where his wife, Pauline Musyoka is undergoing treatment. He assured his people that his dream of one day leading the country was ‘still alive.’

The party’s deputy leader, Farah Maalim on Tuesday said they would not be party to Odinga’s swearing in set for December, 12.

He said Wiper would not help in committing a subversive act and plunging the country into chaos.

The question then remains, should the People’s assembly succeed in swearing in the former Prime Minister, who would take Kalonzo’s place as deputy president with Wiper distancing itself from the event?
