Mziiki, currently the largest platform streaming music from African artists has today announced a brand partnership with leading local musician, Wyre – The Love Child, making hime the second artist from the East African region after Tanzania’s Diamond Platinumz to sign the deal.

In the deal, Wyre will promote the platform through his many engagements while Mziiki will strive to offer unique variety of music from the continent to subscribers. The music is available through Blackberry, Android and iOS platforms. Other platforms like desktop and tablet are to be launched before the end of 2014.

Mziiki currently has more than 800 African artistes and still looking to sign more including DJs and other music content creators.

Mziiki is an app developed by Value Added Service (VAS) provider, Spice Africa, which has been operational in Kenya for the last 5 years. Mziiki was launched in May and already has seen more than 400,000 users with an average user streaming music for 14 minutes on the platform.

The app is available in lite and premium subscription with the former being free (with banners and interlaced advertising) while the premium version is to be purchased before download.

Mziiki hopes to offer even the old collection of music to deepening its catalogue.
