There was commotion at the Migori County Assembly offices after youths disrupted the ongoing Speaker elections.
The members of the county assembly are said to have been in their second round of voting after none of the candidates got the 2/3 of the votes in the first round.
Nominated MCA, Esther Onana apparently collapsed amid the chaos but was rushed to Migori County Referral Hospital for medical attention.

Lawyer Kerario Marwa had in the first round beaten the current Speaker Boaz Okoth. He had garnered 25 votes against Okoth’s 21.
The rowdy youth are said to have either been paid to disrupt the election or were supporting one of the candidates.
