The Interior Principle Secretary Karanja Kibicho is facing arrest and prosecution over Sh12.6 billion tender for leased police vehicles.
This is after CMC motors made a complain accusing the PS of disobeying the order that barred the ministry against calling for bids in the expected tender lease of vehicles.
According to reports by The Star, the CMC motors management is seeking a meeting with President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss the tender deals in what is said to be dishonest dealings and personal interests by senior government officials.
CMC Motors now wants any bid received by the government declared null and void, through a certificate of urgency communicated by the company lawyer Migos Ogamba.

“The court must send a strong message to those who are intent on disobeying court orders that such conduct will not be tolerated, no matter the status of the contemntors in the society,” read the application by Migos Ogamba.
CMC motors is a vehicle company that specializes in distribution of different vehicle brands across East Africa, with branches set in Uganda and Tanzania.
The leasing of tenders for police vehicles was orchestrated in 2013 when the Jubilee government took over leadership in that the new program would be focused on leasing vehicles for security agents.
This, according to DP William Ruto, was to help ease the pain of ownership and maintenance as witnessed in the past.
Following the new program, the Ministry of Interior allocated Sh140 billion for the 2019/2020 financial year.

The Toyota Company won the tender to supply 1100 vehicles for the National Police Service.
The looming wars between Interior Security and CMC motors began in April, where it had won the tender but got terminated in June before supplies were made.
The case has been an ongoing battle with the CMC motors moving to the high court in a bid to stop continuation of the bids.
