Dylan Kerr Blames FKF President Nick Mwendwa For Shield Loss To Sharks

Gor Mahia coach Dylan Kerr has blamed Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Nick Mwendwa for the Sportpesa Shield exit on Sunday.

Gor crushed out of the tournament at the quarters after being edged out by Kariobangi Sharks, a team formerly owned by Mwendwa, 4-2 on penalty and the Englishman seems to suggest the FKF boss had a hand in it.

The newly crowned Kenyan Premier League champions returned into the country Friday from Algeria and did not have enough time to train for the match and were visibly sluggish and dominated.

“FKF president knew what he was doing,” Kerr, who lost to USM Alger 2-1 and were knocked out of the CAF Confederation Cup on Wednesday tweeted.

Nick, who attended the match was visibly animated at the proceedings as he engaged Gor Mahia officials at the VIP section of the Machakos’s Kenyatta Stadium in what looked like a heated debate.

Kerr has lamented over a punishing fixture schedule that saw the team play after every three days in the month of August.

He partly blames this for the team’s failure to make the round of eight in the Confederation Cup as fatigue got the better of the players.
