Sofapaka Crush AFC Leopards’ Continental Football Dreams

Sofapaka edged out AFC Leopards 1-0 to sail through to the SportPesa Shield final at the Kasarani Stadium Sunday.

Second half lone goal from substitute Elli Asieche did all the damage as Leopards’ hopes of a silverware this year went up in smoke.

So were dreams of playing continental football next season.

The Shield winner represents the country in the Caf Confederation Cup.

In the other semis match up, last year’s finalists Kariobangi Sharks walloped Ulinzi Stars 4-1 to cruise through.

Eric Kapaito netted a brace for the Slum Boys with Duke Abuya and Shaphan Oyugi scoring a goal each for the humongous win.

Cliff Kasuti scored the consolation for the Soldiers from Nakuru.

The final is slated for 20 October 2018 with the winner walking away with Ksh2 million and a ticket to the 2018-19 Caf Confederation Cup.
