Nominated Member of Parliament Godfrey Osotsi will not appeal a high court ruling that upheld his removal as Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General.

In a statement on Thursday, the legislator offered ANC Party leader Musalia Mudavadi an olive branch, giving the party a chance to settle internal wrangles at the verge of crippling the party.

“I want to take this opportunity to extend an olive branch to everyone in the party who has perceived my seeking justice, to mean undermining the leadership. Our party name, Amani stands for peace and in this era of the handshake we need to be tolerant with each other and exercise utmost respect for each other’s choice of justice,” Osotsi said.

However, Osotsi affirmed that the move was not out of cowardice, but one that took into consideration concerns from several party moguls in the country.

“…this should not be mistaken as surrender, but an opportunity for the parties involved to create an enabling environment for dispute resolution and ensure peace and tranquility in the party,” he added.

The legislator, who was accompanied by Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala, stated that dialogue was the only way to end ANC leadership wrangles.

Osotsi was replaced by political analyst Barack Muluka after his nomination to parliament as the party’s nominee.

The party wrangles saw him expelled from the ANC party over claims of misuse of the party’s funds when he served as secretary-general before the 2017 General Election.

However, Speaker National Assembly Justin Muturi rejected his revocation, saying the party’s move was flawed.

“We acknowledge with thanks receipt of your letter. However, we are unable to take any action on this matter until provisions of articles 103 and 105 of the constitution have been complied with,” reads the letter addressed to the ANC Secretary-General, Barrack Muluka.
