Former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero has decided to contest the election of Governor Mike Sonko even after conceding defeat.Through his lawyer Tom Ojienda the former governor stated that the form 37A that were used to declare the winner had irregularities. He said that 798 of the1300 form 37As had not been signed by party agents and lacked the IEBC stamp.Evans Kidero noted that at least 12 forms had different dates when the presiding officer signed. Ambassadors representing various countries in Kenya have said changing the electoral laws so close to an election is wrong and against best global practice. The envoys asked that the election Amendment laws of 2017  be shelved as it was just a reaction that is not well thought out and that they make it impossible for IEBC to carry out elections within the said timelines. The University of Nairobi has said that no student has died following the incident of anti riot police assaulting students in their halls of residence contrary to reports that one student had succumbed to injuries. Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala has been placed under house arrest,earlier today police raided his house purporting that he was planning to lead the anti IEBC protests in the county. Jubilee Party members of parliament have said they will pursue Wambugu Ngujiri’s petition against chief Justice Maraga if the the petition filed against Supreme court judge Njoki Ndung’u filed by lawyer Apollo Mboya is not dropped. The ministry of Foreign Affairs CS Amina Mohamed has suspended ties with international NGO which funds the judiciary,through a letter, the Cabinet Secretary said that the government had suspended the agreement between them and the International development law organization (IDLO). The international organization is said to have  influenced the decisions of the supreme court to nullify the presidential elections as they funded the researchers who worked for the supreme court judges. Inspector general Joseph Boinnet has denied claims that police used excessive force on the university of Nairobi students.He said that Kenyans should look at the circumstances that led the police to follow the students in their halls of residence.
