Elgeyo Marakwet and Leader of majority in the senate  Kipchumba Murkomen has told the IEBC that the Election amendment Bill will not affect the elections and they should still keep preparing.

Kipchumba Murkomen asked the IEBC to prepare as if there were no changes in the law. He is one of people who tabled the Bills in parliament.

The Bill has met string opposition from the opposition who have termed it as illegal, unparliamentary and unprocedural

The Jubilee Party who are proponents of the bill say that the Bill seek to address the gaps that led to the nullification of the presidential elections by the Supreme Court.
