Struggling retailer Tuskys Supermarket on Friday closed an outlet in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD). Tuskys Hakati was shut down after the landlord came knocking for rent. It is not clear how much the branch owes in rent arrears but the landlord has allegedly threatened to auction goods. Council of Governors (CoG) wants Migori governor Okoth Obado accorded a fair and expeditious trial in a Sh73.4 million graft case. Health PS Susan Mochache instructed the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) on the supplies to be bought, prices and where. Kenya’s caseload is 33,389 after 373 persons tested positive for the novel COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. This was after testing a 4,663 sample size, Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has confirmed. Of the newly detected infections, 273 were males and the rest females. They were aged between one month and 80 years. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has approved the arrest and prosecution of Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) Managing Director Daniel Manduku. President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended the national 4am to 7pm curfew by another 30 days. Addressing the nation from State House, the head of state also ordered the continued closure of bars and nightclubs for a further 30 days. Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered for the arrest and arraignment of Migori governor Okoth Obado and 23 others for embezzling Sh73.4 million from public coffers. In a statement, the DPP said that the county chief irregularly received the money through his children from companies trading with the county.
